private server?

Is there any way to play FFXI solo? I just get an itch every now and then to be on a server where there is absolutely no one. Just seeing if there is any way to. Perhaps making your own computer the server and doing something to the FFXI files so it reads your computer as a server or something. I have no idea how it would work. Just kinda wondering if this is even possible.

not that is currently available, there has been at least one attempt at making private server software like you have for other mmo's but I don't think they succeeded.

they are getting close to a private server though its not free you still need to login to pol then redirects you to the private server but its basicly just empty zones atm but its getting there
